DRIVING?Wellington Airport parking is now ticketless, so if you park in levels 2-7 of the multi-level carpark building (not in Premium Secure), obtain a parking ticket from the Parking Services kiosk on Level 1 of the building and take it to the reception desk at Rydges for a discounted cost of $20 for the day
BREAKFAST, DEBRIEF AND DINNER
  • If you arrive early, you can come straight to the Whiskey Lima Golf restaurant at Rydges where breakfast is available from 6:30am. Menu options range from a pastry and hot beverage at $10 to a full WLG breakfast at $35.
  • Why not plan on catching a later flight home so you can join the traditional debrief around the bar with other conference participants? As Rydges is located within the airport itself, you can enjoy the debrief without concern about ‘getting to the airport on time’ for your flight home. Nibbles are provided, so if you think you may participate, please tick this option in the registration form to assist with catering.

NZTA TRAINING WORKSHOP – Tuesday 05 May!

  • Module Fundamental Skillset 4: Mechanical fasteners
  • Venue: Engineering New Zealand, Level 6, 40 Taranaki Street, Wellington
  • Date: Tuesday 05 May, 9am – 5pm
  • Cost: $450 (half price!)
  • Numbers: Limited to 20 people only

Mechanical Fasteners is a training module suitable for both trainee and experienced HVSCs. It looks at the mechanical and other material properties of a fastener, including its likely performance in terms of fatigue, corrosion and assessing the forces to which the joint will be subjected. Take advantage of this opportunity from NZTA to build on your engineering expertise, refresh your approach, stay current, and earn valuable CPD hours!

To Register

  1. Log in to the HVSC training portal. If you haven’t registered before, you’ll need to create a new account to access the information.
  2. Go to the tab ‘Learning and events’ and select the module ‘Mechanical Fasteners (May 2026)’
  3. Register by completing the checkout process
  4. Once you’ve registered, please ensure that you scroll down the main module information page and enroll in the module by clicking on ‘Go to Event’ – then follow the prompts. You’ll have access to the Learner workbook once you’ve completed this process.

Driving into Wellington for the workshop?

There are several car parks in the vicinity, Wilsons can be easily googled, and we recommend you check the early bird times to make the most of it.
